Assessment Criteria for the Star Initiative Grant 2010-2011

CriteriaExplanatory Notes

Provision of evidence based rationale for the activityYou must be able to demonstrate that the activity is designed to improve a standard, or reduce a risk.

Demonstration of how the activity will contribute to the development or improvement of professional standards and/or consumer protectionYou must be able to describe how the activity will improve professional standards.

What steps will you take to improve the professional standards?

Contribution to the development of self-regulation (i.e. improvements for professionals in practice.)How will the activity assist/compel members to improve the business practices?

How will the changes be monitored and reviewed?

Ability to enhance risk mitigation strategies identified in the 5 year risk management plan of an occupational association with a Cover of Excellence® Scheme.Link the activity to current practices and identify how, and to what extent, it will enhance existing risk management strategies.

Demonstrated ability to complete the activity within the specified timeframe (e.g. detailed budget, previous experience with similar projects, adequate resources, clear goals).Provide information on strategies for meeting timelines and budget constraints.

Provide previous examples of similar activities, or some other assurances that the project can be managed in a timely way.

Objectives are measurable/quantifiable.There must be clear, concise, measurable project objectives and milestones with specific targets.

Activities of which the results/outcomes can be replicated/ implemented across industries and professions.How will the outcomes be disseminated to other practitioners?
