Professional Standards Forum on artificial intelligence

This Forum provided an opportunity for associations from across the national system to explore the key challenges and emerging opportunities presented by artificial intelligence.
The Forum was led by Dr Ryan Payne, Director of the University of Canberra ‘CanBe’ Behavioural Lab and United Nations delegate on AI Governance.
Topics covered included:
- overview - how AI works
- tool versus service – how people use AI technology
- hallucinations
- privacy implications
- ethics of using AI services
- regulation and challenges for professions and associations
- emerging guardrails on AI usage.
The Councils thank Dr Payne for sharing his expert knowledge and fascinating insights. The Councils also thank participating associations for sharing their experiences and approaches to the emerging challenges of AI.
